Annual General Meeting …19th  September 2005
The Annual General meeting of the QGBOTA was held today at the old Lawnton Racetrack and attended by 20 of the Associations members.

The President, Mr Ray Burman, congratulated the committee for their efforts over the last 12 months…it has been a difficult year trying to encourage the GRA and the Clubs to make the changes as discussed at our regular meetings...

The members that worked at the BBQ each Friday evening at Albion Park were thanked for their super effort.

The BBQ is the association's main source of income since the cessation of the Walk and Talk magazine.

The straight track at Lawnton continues to operate on a break even basis, the members who operate this track were also thanked for their work..

The Treasurer, Mr Rob Gaunt, advised the meeting that the Financial standing of the Association continues to grow and now has cash reserves of $32,205…an increase of approx $5,000 over the previous year.

The membership of the Association continues to grow and currently we have 80 financial members plus affiliations with several of the other BOTA in the state.

Increasing our membership base will be a primary focus of the committee over the coming months.
The strength of the Association will keep the pressure on the administrative bodies within the industry to carry out “activities” for the BETTERMENT of the whole industry.
