Q.G.B.O.T.A. NOVEMBER 2005 REPORT
Congratulations Ipswich Club.

The Ipswich club has taken the initiative to help off-set the ever increasing costs of training Greyhounds.

Effective 1st January 2005, for a trial period of 6 months, the Club will be paying $10.00 to all unplaced runners…The unplaced money will be distributed by the club immediately after the race.

The overall cost to the club to fund the unplaced prizemoney for the 6 month trial period will be $20,800….normal prizemoney will not be reduced.

It will be interesting to see if any of the other clubs can follow the “leader” when it comes to this important issue….

Albion Park .

This association would like to wish the current Albion Park General Manager,
Mr. Alan Hendersen all the best in his upcoming retirement.

It is however disappointing to read the recent article in the Courier Mail that one of the candidates for the position of General manager at Albion Park “does not meet the necessary qualifications” required for the position…this person is currently the General Manager of The Meadows club….one would have thought that her proven Management Qualifications would be an asset to a Club making substantial yearly losses..

Common Sense Prevails

The GRA is to be congratulated on their common sense approach to the recent fiasco regarding the emptying out of dogs at Albion Park.

Following an approach from the QGBOTA, the GRA agreed that it was not in the best interests of the Greyhounds and their handlers to have to empty out in a confined area.

Thank you GRA.

Financials.

The Clubs have been having their Annual General Meetings over the last month and reporting their financial position to the members of those clubs…
